Spring Fever

Happy Weekend friends! I couldn't wait for actual spring to arrive (I'm talking to you March 20th)- so I decorated all things SPRING a tad early. If I were completely honest, this stuff has been up in my house since the last week of February. I. JUST. COULDN'T. WAIT.
When Spring Fever hits, it hits hard, and you just have to let it take it's toll.

I've been excited for all things ALL SEASONS related-it's been so much fun decorating our first home and I truly enjoy sharing my ideas with ya'll. *Side note- I was talking with a friend about how I've started saying "ya'll" since living in Georgia and Tennessee..... it used to be "you guys" so I guess I'm starting to roll with you southern folk now!**
Moving on....
I've mentioned before that I'm just not a "color person". Which is funny, because my room used to be sponge painted 3 different colors of pink..... so I have drastically changed my opinions in the color department (for good reason-see next picture).

Sooooo as you can see, it is definitely a good thing my color pallet has changed.. HA!
With one exception, I feel that Spring is a good time to incorporate a tiny bit of color- so I added some simple purple, green, and pink (not as extreme as the pink monstrosity above...no worries), to my front porch to spice things up a teeny-tiny bit.

I made the wreath a few years ago and wrote one of my first DIY blog posts about it, here's the link if you're interested! It's an oldie though, so no judgement on the photo quality- LOL
Do you spy Splat Cat? She's in the pic above! Always has to make her appearance..... of course.
As for the rest of the front porch, I told Steven when we first moved in that it was my "dream" to have two rocking chairs on the front porch, because who doesn't have the dream of being married and sitting in rocking chairs on the front porch with your love, right?! So he surprised me and took me to Lowe's to buy some last summer.... so sweet ya'll!!! They are decent chairs and have held up for almost a year now.

You can find the welcome mat at Michael's and the black and white chair cushions came from At Home along with the basket, birdcage, and lantern. The green watering can came from TJMaxx and the cute pink watering can (similar one linked) with real flowers in them was a gift from Steven for Valentine's Day (I'm shocked it's still alive honestly). The tan checkered & Grains pillow cases I found on Amazon & I reuse them in my decor all around the house!
On to the inside of the house!

I've been debating on this corner quite a bit. I had a decent "fixer-upper" chair here and I finally decided I wasn't going to attempt to reupholster it, so I did the next logical thing... I sold it and bought a different chair on Joss & Main. This is the Bashir Armchair, and I instantly fell in love with it (currently out of stock in the tan stripe, but they have it available in a cute blue and white stripe)! I will say, it's not the squishiest, comfiest chair- but it does the trick with adding interest to this little corner of mine. It FINALLY feels complete (Splat agrees)! The crocheted ottoman came from TJMaxx; the side table and wall sconce were on-sale at Hobby Lobby. As you can see, very little color was used in the "Spring-ifying" of this space. I simply added some fake floral stems and a powder blue ruffle pillow and called it a day.

My table spread got a much-needed spring update! I went with a grey table runner with glass & white vases to keep it simple and clean. The flowers are fake, but I added water to the vases to give them a real feel. The candle is Salt Flower from Bath & Body Works to add that lovely floral smell!
No matter if you're still getting snow (I'm sooooo sorry if you are) or if it's already 80* outside, it's not too early or too late to add some spring to your space! Please tag me in your spring decor pics (Instagram name: marisajustmae)! I'll be looking to add some of my favorite posts in a Feature Friday here soon!
Decorate the Day Away,
Marisa
